Biography of Theodor Kullak
Theodor Kullak was a German pianist, composer, music educator, and publisher of Polish origin. He began studying music in Poznan with Albrecht Agthe. By the age of six, he was already performing concerts, and at eleven years old, he gave a concert for the royal court in Berlin. However, as he grew older, Kullak lost his influential patrons, and at the age of nineteen, he became a medical student in Berlin. Medicine did not interest him greatly, and in 1842, he found an opportunity to return to music. He moved to Vienna and became a student of Carl Czerny and Otto Nicolai.
Kullak's career began to rise again, and in 1843, he returned to Berlin as a court piano teacher and spent many years making music with Prussian princes and princesses. In 1846, he was appointed as a pianist for the Royal Court. In 1844, Kullak founded the B
